Direct Care Worker - Direct Support Professional

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - DIRECT CARE WORKER

Starting Wage: $19.00/hr. plus experience. Wesco Industries provides training to everyone.

Direct Care Staff work in the homes of individuals with Special Needs. Applicants must be caring and attentive to detail.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
  • Ensures client safety and maintaining a safe environment.
  • Encourages self-help & self-care activities.
  • Document on care services provided.
  • Performs home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning.
  • Plans meals, shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a group home, home-like settings.
  • Communication skills (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company.

  • Must be flexible in working scheduled shifts, and if client needs require a Relief Staff to move departments/site they will upon request.
  • Required to be trained in ALL WESCO departments and programs.
  • Must be willing to meet all requirements of employment including completing necessary trainings and meetings.

Direct Support Professional (Relief Staff)

Relief Staff

Ability to commute/relocate:

Days/Hours of work:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support and assistance to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities

  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs)

  • Monitor and record vital signs as needed

  • Lift and transfer individuals who require assistance with mobility

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

  • Drive individuals to appointments, outings, or other activities as required

  • Maintain a clean and organized living space for individuals under your care

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in direct support or caregiving roles is preferred but not required

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed

  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with individuals with disabilities

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record and chauffeur license

Supported Employment Job Specialist

SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT JOB SPECIALIST

Looking for a caring staff with a positive attitude to provide supervision and skill development to individuals working in the community, maintaining their employment. Must be willing to meet all requirements of employment including completing necessary training and meetings. This person must complete the APSE training and CESP Exam within the first year of hire.

Requirements: The ideal candidate would be highly organized and detail-oriented.  Knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs and other computer skills. 

Starting Wage: $20.25 plus experience and or licensing

Hours of Work:  Monday – Thursday 9am to 2pm & Friday 8am to 12pm. Hours vary depending on client needs.
